...since i ultimately believe in a greater power (God), i think that the meaning and purpose of our lives have already been made, but that the parameters that make the meaning and purpose true can be stretched by our own effort, after we strive to realise what our meaning and purpose actually is

1. finding what the meaning and purpose of life is
2. fulfiling that meaning and purpose
3. realising that finding the meaning of life is search and fulfilment, and vice versa

hmmm...the third step in my mind would be trying to push the limits of that meaning and purpose, thus realising your true potential and being humble with it

yes...i suppose that's why your soul mate is called your life companion

hey why do you think we long to find a life companion so?

because unless you're in a religion where your God and His Son loves you eternally and no matter what you do, people tend to find themselves spiritually lonely

and even if you're in that religion, us humans are still shallow to the point where we need to see and feel that love in the form of another person

no one likes to be lonely, and we do what we can to seek to rectify it

you find someone else who feels has meaning in your life and you realise that your own life has meaning for someone else

i mean, this is the overall idea...i guess the actual specifics would be willing to share and listen to opinions, caring about their health and wellbeing, etc.

this makes you realise that you're unique...but you're also connected to something vaster, more mysterious and enduring

exactly! i find that quote to be most fitting

when you find the one, as if the "truth" is finally open to you

yeah! and along with "i am complete", there's also "everything is complete in my life" when things fall into place

perhaps it's not truth as such (since that seems to imply it's objective and the same for everyone)...but more completion like you were saying

a sense of harmony and comprehension of the relationship between you and everything else

exactly, because the truth is, we lead very one-sided lives, and only by opening ourselves to the other side can we really experience what it means to be complete and to FEEL complete
